How We Serve British Columbia
BDI Play Designs is an Alberta manufacturer and supplier with two ways of serving BC. In the East Kootenays — Cranbrook, Kimberley, Invermere, Fernie, and Creston — we are the authorized Blue Imp distributor with full local installation.
Across the rest of the province — including Metro Vancouver, the Island, and the Interior — we work through our local partners: as part of the Blue Imp network, we can connect you with Blue Imp’s BC representatives and help you access its full Canadian-made catalogue. To complement those designs, we also offer BDI’s own lines (SteelCore rope structures, CedarScape timber playgrounds, StoneWood concrete play, and UnderCover shade), shipped direct with engineered drawings for installation, plus a growing self-install line your own crew can assemble.

Yes. As part of the Blue Imp network, we can connect you with our local partners to offer Blue Imp and BDI playground equipment, picnic shelters, and park amenities to schools, municipalities, developers, and strata communities across Metro Vancouver — including Vancouver, Coquitlam, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Langley, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack. Our own BDI equipment ships direct from our Alberta facility.
Have you built anything in the Vancouver area?

Yes. In 2025 we delivered the destination playground at Rochester Park in Coquitlam — a signature BDI project in Metro Vancouver. In Eastern BC, where our own crews install, recent work includes Mount Nelson Athletic Park in Invermere and Annex Park and Sparling Park in Fernie.

Who installs the equipment for Vancouver-area projects?

Depending on the product and project, installation is completed by certified local installers, your own contractor working from our engineered drawings, or — for our self-install line of park amenities like benches, bike racks, and GaGa ball pits — your own crew. Every play structure meets CAN/CSA-Z614 and ASTM F1487.
